Wireless Zone makes a call to Darien

May 13, 2008

Wireless Zone, the largest independent Verizon wireless franchise, recently opened at 1071 Post Road in Darien. The store sells the latest cellular, wireless phones, GPS navigation, wireless accessories, Verizon FIOS High Speed Fiber Optic Network and wireless data devices.

“This is an ideal location for Wireless Zone because it will provide them with high visibility in a market with limited competition and excellent demographics,” said Deirdre Corcoran Foote, senior vice president of GVA Williams, the sole broker in the signing of the store’s lease.

Jonah Enger, a Brooklyn-based investment banker, is the owner of the Darien Wireless Zone franchise. Will Stoudt, a childhood friend of Engler, is the Darien manager.

“We had a great grand opening with a tent outside serving refreshments, said Stoudt.
“The reception was so great, we plan on doing it again.”

Wireless Zone Founder Russ Welden started “The Car Phone Store” in Wethersfield in 1988 and changed the name to Wireless Zone in 1999.
