Hanna K. Ford, 75, long-time Darienite, Holocaust survivor

Hanna K. Ford, long-time Darien resident and Holocaust survivor, died Tuesday, May 6. She was 75.
Mrs. Ford was born in Poland on Jan. 25, 1933. After surviving the German occupation of Poland, she came to the United States to live with relatives. She attended Hunter College in New York City and while living in the city, developed a lifelong passion for the arts, particularly dramatic theater.
Mrs. Ford moved to Darien in 1971. She lived in the same house in Noroton Bay since then. Her years in Darien provided her with her happiest memories and a number of close friends in town with whom she regularly enjoyed dinners, movies and trips to New York, her family said.
Mrs. Ford is survived by her children, Rob, Greg, David and Janice; and her grandchildren, Jennifer, Will, Mikaela, Isabella and Aiden.
She was predeceased by her husband, James S. Ford.
Visiting hours will be from 3 to 6 on Friday, May 9, at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien. A funeral service will be held at 11 on Saturday, May 10, at the United Church of Rowayton, 210 Rowayton Ave., Rowayton. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien.
