Darien youths will play in string orchestra festival

Darien youths are participating in the Fairfield County String Teachers Association’s annual String Orchestra Music Festival being held Saturday, March 29.
Matthew Evans, Alexandra Igbal, Olivia Leunis, Sophie Long, Michael Sawitsky and Ryo
Usami are joining the over 200 area middle and junior high school students from 18 towns being featured in three string orchestras.
The event is an enrichment experience for qualified instrumentalists recommended by their school music teachers and selected by festival committees.
The public concert will be held at 3 in White Hall, Western Connecticut State University, Danbury. Tickets are $6 for adults. Children under 14 will be admitted free.
