| Voter machine demonstrations |
As November draws near, the League of Women Voters will conduct several voter machine demonstrations in Fairfield. Here's the listing: • Saturday, Oct. 4, Pequot Library, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. • Tuesday, Oct. 14, Senior Center, 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. • Sunday, Oct. 19, Main Library, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. • Saturday, Oct. 25, Fairfield Woods Library, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Voters will also be able to register to vote at the October 4, 14, and 19 sessions, but not at the Oct. 25 session. This is because State law has a cutoff date of Oct. 21 for mail-in registrations (must be postmarked by this date). However, voters can still register in person at Town Hall until the final cut-off date of Tuesday, Oct. 28. |

| Siciliano rewards Mustangs for patience |
The Fairfield Warde girls soccer team knew it was only a matter of time. Throughout its game against FCIAC champion Greenwich High Tuesday night, the Mustangs were getting plenty of chances, but were just missing putting the ball in the back of the net. Finally, in the waning minutes of the game, the Mustangs scored to pick up the 1-1 tie. “A tie here is bigger than you think because we were down by one at the half and you need to put in a good showing in the second half to get going and that’s what we did,” Warde head coach Tom Cunningham said. “We had our chances and got a goal late in the game. We’ll take what we can get.” Warde’s patience paid off and with 2:15 to play, the Mustangs worked the ball deep in Greenwich’s zone. Senior Sabrina Siciliano took possession of the loose ball in front of the net and booted it past the GHS defense, hitting the left side of the net for the equalizer. |
