Richard “Dick” Koerner died April 24 at Greenwich Hospital after a brief illness. He was 74 years old.
The son of Pauline and Adam Koerner, Mr. Koerner was born in Greenwich. A lifelong resident, he graduated from Greenwich High School and Columbia University. He worked as a benefits manager for several years before retiring.
Mr. Koerner was most recently employed by the Town of Greenwich Recreation Board.
In his lifetime, Mr. Koerner was a member of the Greenwich Jaycees, Byram Rotary Club and the Greenwich Umpires Association. He was an avid sports fan and supported his children and grandchildren by attending various sporting events, they said.
Mr. Koerner is survived by his wife, June Koerner, and their three daughters, Linda Turbert, her husband Kevin and their daughters Sarah and Ryann; Laura Noe, her husband Doug and their daughter, Kate; and Lisa Ferguson, her husband Jim and their daughters Emily and Erin. He is also survived by his granddogs Gags, Ozzy and Jagr.
Besides his parents, Mr. Koerner was predeceased by his sister, Ruth Munson, and brother, Ralph Koerner.
Calling hours were Monday, April 28, at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., where a service was held on Tuesday, April 29.
