Samuel Palmisano

Samuel Palmisano, a lifelong resident of Greenwich, died April 27. He was 83 years old.

Mr. Palmisano was born on Sept. 9, 1924, in Greenwich to the late Anthony and Maria (Pagnotti) Palmisano. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne and participated in the D-Day Invasion.

Mr. Palmisano enjoyed fishing and gardening. He worked for many years as a landscaper at West Lyons Farms.

He was predeceased by his wife Carmella Palmisano, a son Anthony Palmisano, his brothers Benjamin, Frank, Anthony and Dominick Palmisano and sisters Mary Penebre, Phyllis Bologna and Francis Cavalaro.

He is survived by his daughter Maria Paqua (David) of Norwalk and grandchildren Megan Paqua of Norwalk, Anthony Palmisano (Tatiana) of Greenwich, Rhonda Palmisano of Greenwich and Michael Palmisano of Pennsylvania.

Calling hours are Friday, May 2, from 9 to 10:45 at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., followed by entombment at St. Mary Cemetary in Greenwich.
