New health club offers classes to teach healthy cooking

Fitnessgarage.org, a holistic alternative to the standard health club, introduces the first of its specialty classes, a hands-on cooking, eating and personal fitness training series called “Healthy Cooking, Healthy Eating and Exercise Made Simple.”

The program, which runs from Oct. 15 to Nov. 26, consists of a series of six cooking classes, lectures and fully prepared organic meals conducted by Geri Zatcoff of Zatcoff Wellness, choice of six exercise classes or three personal training sessions taught by Fitnessgarage.org/Greenwich Sports Medicine trainers and one metabolic assessment done by Dr. Christopher Mah from Greenwich Sports Medicine.

Designed to help busy people integrate good nutrition and exercise into their hectic daily routines, participants will enjoy fully prepared organic lunches or dinners as they learn to make smart food choices, find out where to buy healthy foods, learn about the most optimal time to eat meals and snacks and get quick tips on how to make easy and delicious energy-packed meals. Participants may choose the luncheon series on Mondays from noon to 1 or Tuesday night dinners from 7:30 to 8:30. The program costs $480. Reservations are required.

For reservations or information, call Laura Pagello, director of health, wellness and fitness programming, at 667-4153 or e-mail her at laurap@fitnessgarage.org.
