Greenwich Red Cross reaches out to tornado survivors
|
Family and friends of those affected by the tornadoes in the south can check the American Red Cross “Safe and Well" Web site for information at Redcross.org by clicking the “Safe and Well Web site link.
The Web site is available round the clock, and the Red Cross encourages affected residents to register. Wherever there is Internet access, people can register on or search the Web site.
The Safe and Well Web site enables people within a disaster area to let their families and friends outside of the affected region know that they are “safe and well.” Loved ones who are concerned about family members in an affected area can search the Web site to view these messages.
The Greenwich Chapter of the American Red Cross provides relief to victims of emergencies and disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. Greenwich depends on the Red Cross to be at the forefront in responding to any emergency, in educating the public on disaster preparedness and in promoting the health and safety of its people.
For information about the programs and services of the Greenwich Chapter, call 869-8444 or visit or Web site, Greenwichredcross.org.
