The Heritage Center

Heritage Center is regularly open Monday through Friday from 9 to 4:30. Marie Sibilio is the program coordinator and may be reached at 938-9725. Daily activities, some of which may be detailed under Activities, are:

Monday, June 9
9 a.m. — Adult aerobics
10 a.m. — Low impact aerobics
11 a.m. — Chair yoga

Tuesday, June 10
9 a.m. — Seniorcize
10 a.m. — Bridge lessons
10 a.m. — Men’s aerobics
11 a.m. — Adult mat yoga
Noon — Lunch
12:30 — Blood pressure screening
1 p.m. — Art with Adele Moros
1 p.m. — Bridge
6 p.m. — Art with Adele Moros

Wednesday, June 11
 9 a.m. —Adult body toning
10 a.m. — Sketching with Laura McCormick
Noon — Lunch
1:30 p.m.— Ceramics

Thursday, June 12
8:45 a.m. — Adult mat yoga

Special events
Free bridge lessons — on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. in the card room at the Community Center. The instructor is Dorothea LaBelle, an accomplished instructor and bridge player. The lessons are for beginners and players who wish to refresh their bridge playing skills and tow learn new rules and methods of bridge. Call 938-9725 to confirm your attendance or for more information. 
Monday, June 16 — Redding Community Center at 10 a.m., the Redding Garden Club will be holding a workshop to make tussie-mussie arrangements (miniature bouquets) for Regional Hospice patients. The public is invited to join club members. There will be flowers, etc. at the meeting, but any contribution of flowers, greens or herbs will be appreciated. Call  938-9725 if you plan to attend.



Regular happenings :

Lunches Served at Heritage Center — On Tuesdays at noon, a light lunch of soup, bread and dessert is available for $2. On Wednesdays at noon, a more substantial lunch consisting of a hot entrée and dessert is served for $4. You must call the Center for a reservation at 938-9725. On special holidays, such as St. Patrick’s Day and Easter , the cost is $5.

Senior Aquacise Classes — The pool at Meadow Ridge is the site for senior aquatic exercises with an instructor in charge and a lifeguard on duty. Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9:30. Arrangements and payment must be made through Heritage Center. Call 938-9725.

Bridge — Several bridge players meet on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1 p.m., new members are welcome. For more information, call 938-9725.

Blood Pressure Screening — A service offered on the second Tuesday of each month from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. There is no charge and no appointment is needed.

Emergency Call List — If you would like to have your name on the list to be called in such emergencies as severe storm conditions, call Gail Schiron at 938-3580.

Billiard Room — Open from 9 to 4.

Senior Surfing  — Log on to www.seniornet.org for a variety of news, views and resources.
