Heritage Center is regularly open Monday through Friday from 9 to 4:30. Marie Sibilio is the program coordinator and may be reached at 938-9725. Daily activities, some of which may be detailed under Activities, are:

Special events
Wednesday, May 14 — Bird talk at 10 a.m. with guest speaker Chris Bosak, who writes a bird-watching column for various newspapers in New England. He is also an avid bird photographer whose photo accompanies each column he writes. His talk will include general information on birds, bird migration and feeding birds. Call 938-9725 to make a reservation to attend this talk at the Redding Community Center.
Wednesday, May 21 — Redding Community Center at 1 p.m. Brent Colley, a local historian, will be giving a slide show presentation showcasing Redding’s Parks, Places and People via his vast collection of photos and postcards. Historic images of Huntington State Park, the Mark Twain Library, Putnam Memorial Park and Mark Twain’s residence will highlight the slide show, which will also include historic views of all four sections of Redding (Georgetown, Redding Center, Redding Ridge, West Redding).

Lunches Served at Heritage Center — On Tuesdays at noon, a light lunch of soup, bread and dessert is available for $2. On Wednesdays at noon, a more substantial lunch consisting of a hot entrée and dessert is served for $4. You must call the Center for a reservation at 938-9725. On special holidays, such as St. Patrick’s Day and Easter , the cost is $5.
Senior Aquacise Classes — The pool at Meadow Ridge is the site for senior aquatic exercises with an instructor in charge and a lifeguard on duty. Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9:30. Arrangements and payment must be made through Heritage Center. Call 938-9725.
Bridge — Several bridge players meet on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1 p.m., new members are welcome. For more information, call 938-9725.
Blood Pressure Screening — A service offered on the second Tuesday of each month from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. There is no charge and no appointment is needed.
Emergency Call List — If you would like to have your name on the list to be called in such emergencies as severe storm conditions, call Gail Schiron at 938-3580.
Billiard Room — Open from 9 to 4.
Senior Surfing — Log on to www.seniornet.org for a variety of news, views and resources.
