Vincent Peter Autuori Sr., 96, of Trumbull, died May 6 at Lord Chamberlain Health Care Center, Stratford. He was the husband of the late Rose Theresa (Luongo) Autuori.
Son of the late Joseph Vincent Autuori and Lucy (Petrino) Autuori, he was born Feb. 23, 1912 in Bridgeport.  
Mr. Autuori worked as a registered pharmacist in the Bridgeport area for 42 years.
His family would like to thank the staff at Lord Chamberlain, especially the nurses and aides on the fourth floor.
Survivors include three sons and their wives, Joseph and Joan of Milford, Vincent and Edie of Shelton, and Anthony and Mary of Trumbull; seven grandchildren, Dawn O’Brien and her husband, Darren, Kelly Lambert and her husband, Rich, Lisa Dodge and her husband, Michael, Anthony Autuori and his wife, Marcy, Laura Pontani and her husband, Sean, Katie and Amy Autuori; eight great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph.

Julia Sagalski Brozdowski, 92, a homemaker, formerly of Stratford, died April 30 in Marathon Heath Center, West Haven. She was the wife of the late Walter Brozdowski.
Daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Janoska) Sagalski, she was born in Mayfield, Pa.
Survivors include her son, Robert and his wife, Margaret; two grandchildren, June and Lance Brozdowski, all of Milford; a sister, Sabina Sakulich of Stratford; a brother, Alfred Sagalski and his wife, Irene of Stratford, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Antoinette Ginane.

Dorothy Lillian DiGhello, 90, of Milford, died May 4 in the Golden Hill Health Care Center, Milford. She was the wife of the late Pat DiGhello.
Daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Lillian Dunphy Leavenworth, she was born Dec. 9, 1917 in Stamford.
A lifelong resident of Connecticut, Mrs. DiGhello spent her childhood in Stratford on the shores of the Housatonic River. She later lived in Wallingford and Fairfield; spending the last 25 years in Milford.
After retiring from the former Revere Corporation of America in Wallingford, she worked at the Post Mall in Milford and ran a small bridal shop with her daughter.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia of Milford; a stepson, Ronald DiGhello and his family, several nieces and nephews, and her friends, the Haigh family of Orange; and the Tobin family of Milford.

Helen Gadala Zysk, 90, of Milford, died April 24 in her home. She was the wife of the late Anthony Zysk.
Daughter of the late Michael and Helen Krafcik Gadala, she was born in Granville, N.Y.
Mrs. Zysk was a retired employee of Bryant Electric Division of Westinghouse. She was a member of St. John’s Orthodox Church, Stratford where she was in the choir and Ladies Guild. She also was a member of the ACRY, and the Milford Senior Citizens.
Survivors include her daughter, Regina Lomme of Milford; seven grandchildren, Keith Mazzabuffi and his wife, Dawn, Michael Lomme and wife, Debbie, David Lomme, Kenneth Lomme, Jason Vargovchik, Michelle Mihaly and her husband, Matthew and John Vargovchik and his wife, Nancy; many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kay Gadala of Trumbull, and Marge Gregory and her husband, Louis of Wallingford, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, John and Michael Gadala; and two sisters, Mary Kroll and Pani Ann Sabak.

Julius F. Boullosa Jr., 87, of Milford, died May 5 in the Golden Hill Health Center, Milford. He was the husband of the late Stephanie Yusko Boullosa.
Son of the late Julius and Ethel Chalevy Boullosa, he was born May 29, 1920 in Manhattan, N.Y.
In 1984, after 44 years of service, Mr. Boullosa retired as superviser of the Melt Shop at the former Carpenter Tech in Bridgeport. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
A member of the St. Mary parish in Milford, he helped found the church folk group;  and was a Eucharistic Minister, usher, and lay reader.
Survivors include his daughter, Christine Brown and her husband, Gary of Milford; a brother, George Boullosa of Santa Fe, N.M.; six grandchildren, James Boullosa, David Boullosa and his wife, Bernadette, Michael Brown, Stephanie Boullosa, and David and Thomas Brown; a great-grandson, Jason Boullosa; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Boullosa, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, James, who died in 1988.

Jonathan Sherwood Berg, 72, of Old Saybrook, formerly of Fairfield, died May 6.
Son of Carl John and Helen Elizabeth (Sherwood) Berg, he was born Feb. 26, 1936 in Bridgeport. He was the husband of Gwendolyn (Scanlan) Berg for 51 years.
Mr. Berg grew up in Fairfield and graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School. He joined the Air Force and was stationed at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. When he left the Air Force he attended the University of Bridgeport. He then worked at Dunlap in Darien and soon after became owner of Morse Moving Company in New York. He also went to NY Theological Seminary.
Mr. Berg was a board member of the Pivot House and the Norwalk Homeless Shelter. he was an AIDS Buddy, and was involved in Bible Studies Ministries at Gates Correctional Institution in Niantic. He recently was involved with Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Salem.
Besides his wife, survivors include four sons, Jonathan II and his wife, Shelby of Wakefield, Mass., Thomas and his wife, Bridgit of North Dakota, Bruce and his wife, Margaret of Monroe, and Drew and his wife, Claudia of Milford; eight grandchildren, Brianna, Bruce, Maida, Sean, Brendan, Daniella, Britney and Riley; his sister, Beverly Sniffen; and his brother, Carl Jr.
He was predeceased by his sister, Katherine Doubleday.

Dominick P. Veccharelli Sr., 78, of Milford, died May 8. He was the husband of the late Katherine Knox Veccharelli.
Son of the late Vincent and Madeline Mastroni Veccharelli, he was born in Bridgeport on Aug. 14, 1929. He was a Milford resident for 55 years.
A U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran, Mr. Veccharelli was a retired inspector from Avco Lycoming where he was employed for 35 years. He was the owner and operator of the former Dom-A-Deal Collectibles & Antiques Store in Milford Center for 15 years.
His greatest and most memorable times were those spent with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Nancy Smith and her husband, Gregory of West Haven; Linda Secondi of Milford; Dominick Jr. and his wife, Kathy of Milford; Vincent of Seymour; Peter and his wife, Lynn of Milford; Delbert Darcy (Stacey) of Deep River; and Lisa Rua of Milford; a brother, Peter of Monroe; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Veccharelli was predeceased by his son, Vincent’s fiancée, Terri Williams.

Dorothy (Dottie) Hoff Fallacaro, 75, of Bridgeport, wife of the late Frank Fallacaro died on Thursday, May 8 in Griffin Hospital.
 Daughter of the late Jesse and Mary Nagy Hoff, she was born in Milford on December 6, 1932.
She was a waitress at Frankie’s Diner for many years prior to her retirement.
Survivors include one sister, Barbara Shea of Derby; one brother, Arthur Hoff and his wife, Ruth of Lakeland, Florida; a sister-in-law, Shirley Hoff of Crawfordsville, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her two brothers, Robert and William Hoff.

Eleanor N. Rosa, 69, of Milford, died May 8, 2008 in the Jewish Home for the Elderly, Fairfield. She was the wife of 46 years to Robert (Bob) Rosa.
Daughter of Hermann Niehaus of Milford, and the late Marie Schade Niehaus, she was born on July 29, 1938 in Bronx, NY.
Mrs. Rosa was a registered nurse, having worked in the Milford public school system for 15 years.
She enjoyed cruises and was a very devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include three children, Margaret of Enfield; Robert Jr. and his wife, Laura of Prospect; and Elisabeth A. Lockwood and her husband Robert of Milford; six grandchildren, Bradley, Robert Jr., and Ryan Lockwood; Kyle, Katelynn and Lindsey Rosa; a sister, Margaret McDonald and her husband, Robert of Waterbury; and two nieces.

“Ginny” Virginia Wilhelm, 85, died Feb. 29 in Spokane, Washington. She was the wife of Albert Szabo.
She was born in New Britain and lived in Milford for 17 years before retiring to Seminole, Florida, where she lived for 35 years.
For many years she and her husband ran Bernhardt Wilhelm Opticians in Milford. She was a talented horticulturist, an accredited flower show judge for the Federated Garden Clubs of CT, and was an active member in the Spade and Hoe Garden Club, serving several terms as president.  S
She was an avid golfer, was active in the community, served on the board of her condominium for many years and was an active member of the Suncoasters.  
Survivors are a son, Bernhardt “Bernie” Wilhelm II, and his wife, Joann; grandchildren, Katrina and Philip, all in Spokane; her sister, Frances Pearson of Winter Haven, Florida, and many close friends.
Cremation took place in Spokane. Her ashes were scattered in the waters off of Florida.

Carlos Smith Sr., formerly of Milford, died April 5 at his home in New Jersey. He was the husband of Doris Clayton Smith.
Survivors also include his children Carl Smith and his wife Sharon; and Susan Hoxley and her husband Kenneth, both of Milford; Scott Smith and his wife, Holly, of West Haven; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 21 Robert Treat Parkway in Milford.

Joseph Reis, 90, husband of 63 years to Maria Odette Costa Reis of Milford, died on Monday, May 12 in Milford Hospital.
Son of the late Faustino and Anna Rita Domingues Reis, he was born on May 9, 1918 in Chicopee, MA. He was a very talented carpenter and loved to garden.
In addition to his wife, survivors are his children, Jose Manuel Reis and his wife Maria of Shelton; Edward Reis and his wife Olga; and Anabela Oliveira and her husband Jose, all of Milford; grandchildren, Helena Fernandes, Paula Mickels, Elizabeth Pelaccia, Anna Rita Rodriguez, Edward Reis Jr., and Michael Oliveira. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Alex, Jake, Leighton, and two more on the way; and several nieces and nephews in Portugal.
He was pre-deceased by a half-brother, Faustino De Oliveira.
Funeral services were held at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street on the Green, Milford today at 9:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Milford.
Interment in King’s Highway Cemetery, Milford.

Richard J. Lofgren, 87, of Milford, husband of Laurie Kelt Lofgren, died Sunday, May 11.
Son of the late Oscar and Elizabeth Geist Lofgren, he was born in Boston, Mass. on Nov. 22, 1920. He was a Milford resident for 62 years.
Mr. Lofgren was retired from the Corbett Press Co. in Woodbridge where he was employed for 30  years. He was also employed at the Wilson H. Lee Printing Co. for 25 years and upon coming to Milford, was employed at Chance Vought for several years.
He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed duckpin bowling and bocci and a Red Sox fan.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth M. King and her husband, Denis of North Haven; a brother, Bernard of Rhode Island, eight grandchildren, Richard, Chris, Rob, Erika, Heather, P.J., Chris and Mike; three great-grandchildren, Allison, Claire and Joe; and many nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his daughter, Hilde; and a brother Conrad.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sat., May 17 at 10 a.m. in St. Andrew Episcopal Church, 283 Bridgeport Ave., Milford.
Interment will be private.

Russell J. Lasse, 81, of Milford, husband of Evelyn Pompo Lasse, died May 11.
Son of the late Peter and Mabel Goff Lasse, he was born in Milford on April 26, 1927 and was a lifelong resident.
Mr. Lasse was the owner and operator of Lasse’s Restaurant for 40 years, and was known as the King of the roast Beef. He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran.
Survivors, besides his wife are children Kathleen Sembiante and her husband, Mark of Stratford; Joyce of Milford, Peter and his wife, Patricia of Milford; Joanne Rohrig and her husband, Scott of Milford; Patricia Pihonak and her husband, Mark of Stratford; nine grandchildren, Connie, Joseph, Jared, Nicole, Jeremy, Charles, Chelsea, Jillian and Jackie; two great-grandchildren; a sister Genevieve of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Madeline DiBona and Helen Pietrini.

A. Ruth Yerxa Blichfeldt, 92, of Milford, died May 12, in Lord Chamberlain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  
She was the daughter of the late Frank and Garnet Swann McKeand, and was born on October 25, 1915 in Blue Sulphur Spring, West Virginia.  
Before retiring, she was employed as an office manager of M & M Transportation in Orange.  An active member of the community, she was a member of the Milford Senior Center, where she received the 2002 “Senior Citizen of the Year Award.”  She enjoyed playing the piano at the Senior Center and traveling to local nursing homes entertaining people. She will also be remembered as an avid Bridge player.  
Survivors include a son David F. Yerxa of Milford; stepdaughter Beverly Nielsen of Golden, CO; grandchildren David W. Yerxa of Milford; Daniel E. Yerxa of North  Guilford; Lisa Berry of Branford; John Berry of Bel Air, MD; and seven great-grandchildren.  
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husbands David P. Yerxa, Jr. and Samuel Blichfeldt; a daughter Nancy Lee Yerxa Berry; brother Leland McKeand; and infant granddaughter Jacqueline Yerxa.

Lindon K. Blanchard, 66, of Milford, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 in Milford Hospital.
Son of the late Wayne and Verna Danforth Blanchard, he was born in Lincoln, Maine on July 6, 1941.
Lindon a was machine operator at Milford Manufacturing before his retirement. He also worked at Stop & Shop.
Survivors include four sisters Nanette Moores of Milford; Iva Blanchard of Alabama; Erlene Parnell of Washington; and Sydney Beesley of Maine; and nine nieces.
He was predeceased by a nephew.
There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of the 1st United Church of Christ, 18 West Main St., Milford, on Saturday, May 17, at 1:00 p.m. Interment was private.
