Are there any Bible study programs?

Many churches in town have Bible study programs. It’s a good idea to call for details.

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church offers Bible study on Wednesday mornings at 10.

The United Methodist Church offers Mature Years Bible Study on Wednesday mornings at 9:30.

An evening Bible study program takes place on Thursdays at 6:45, at Community Baptist Church.

The Congregational Church offers Bible study on Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m., and 7:30 p.m., and Monday mornings at 6:30.

The First Presbyterian Church has women’s Bible study on Monday evenings at 7.

St. Michael’s Lutheran has women’s Bible study on Wednesday morning at 10.
Torah study takes place on Saturday mornings at 9 at Temple Sinai.

Are there any stores selling religious items?

The Lion’s Den Book & Gift Store is near Morrill Hall on the grounds St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge. Merchandise includes jewelry, music, cards, book, and other gift items. Call 966-3838. Open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday from 9 to 1, and Saturday from 10 to noon.

The Christian Science Reading Room at 20 Forest Street (966-0122), is open Monday through Saturday from 11 to 2. It sells religious books, videos, CDs, and cassettes, many appropriate for children. The Christian Science Monitor newspaper is also available for sale. The reading room also offers a study room and lending library where Bibles and reference materials may be read or borrowed. A computerized Bible concordance and printer are available.

Congregation Beth El (838-2710) has a gift and simcha shop open on Sunday from 9 to noon when religious school is in session. There are religious items, gifts, toys, and Purim costumes for sale.
