Cornelia O’Day
Cornelia O’Day, 86, of New Canaan, formerly of Herricks, N.Y., died Friday April 25, at home.

Born in New York City September 13, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth Giles Kerrigan.

Known as Nealie, she was the wife of the late John M. O’Day.

She is survived by a daughter, Jane-Patricia Sherry, and her son-in-law, Jim, of New Canaan; a son, Michael J. O’Day, and his wife, Martha, of New Hyde Park, N.Y.; a brother, Arthur Kerrigan of Ohio; three grandchildren , Michael, Carlynn and Allison; and many nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by three brothers, Benjamin, John and Edward, and a sister, Mary.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday at St. Aloysius Church, Cherry Street. Interment followed in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y.

The Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, handled arrangements.
