David F. White of New Canaan, died Sunday, May 4, with his wife and close friends by his side, after a long and courageous battle with leukemia. He was 47 years old.
Born in Huntsville, Ala., Mr. White graduated from Bryant University and trained at the New England Culinary Institute.
He was a vice president with the Medical Liability Mutual Insurance Company in New York, where he worked for 22 years.
Food was his expression of affection. His culinary talents were shared on the bleachers of football fields to sidelines of the baseball diamonds where his sons played. “New Canaanites were showered with delicious morsels of hugs and kisses,” his family recalled.
Mr. White is survived by his wife of 19 years, Jacqueline; his sons, Andrew and Christopher; his father, Richard; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas More Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien, at 11 a.m. Monday, May 12. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
