Philanthropy rings Stock Exchange bell
|
In honor of National Corporate Philanthropy Day, Cari Hills of New Canaan, director of operations for the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy, joined CECP Board members Alain Belda, chairman and CEO of Alcoa, Inc., and Alan Hassenfeld, chairman of Hasbro, Inc., to ring the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange Monday, February 25.
They were joined by award winners Jim Rohr, chairman and CEO, The PNC Financial Services Group, and Jennifer Brandon, executive director of Community Voice Mail. Each year, the committee presents three Excellence in Corporate Philanthropy Awards to the CEOs of two corporations and one nonprofit for distinction in philanthropy.
The Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy is the only international forum of business CEOs and chairmen exclusively focused on corporate philanthropy. Its mission is to lead the business community in raising the level and quality of corporate philanthropy. Engaging with the public, private, and independent sectors, members seek and create opportunities to serve as corporate giving advocates, practitioners, educators, and spokespersons to advance the case for philanthropy and to inspire other business leaders to make a lasting commitment to community giving.
