Young Magicians appear on Saxe stage
Apr 30, 2008

P.J. Larson fans the cards as Karl Eason, Ryan Stiffelman and Matt Ferrucci look on, preparing for the May 3 show by the Society of Young Magicians at Saxe School.

The Society of Young Magicians, Bill Andrews Assembly #42, will hold its 20th annual magic show, “Future Stars of Magic,” Saturday, May 3, at Saxe Middle School. Doors open at 6 p.m., close-up starts at 6:30, the stage show starts at 7.

New Canaan High School students Karl Eason, Matt Ferrucci, Peter “P.J.” Larson and Ryan Stiffelman are members of the assembly and will perform that evening.

Karl, also known as The Great Karlini, will attempt to escape from a straitjacket. Matt, P.J., and Ryan will entertain the crowds with their close-up magic prior to the stage performance.

Magic tricks and refreshments will be sold before and after the performance. Proceeds will be used to purchase new sound and lighting equipment for the club, as well as new stage illusions for future shows. Proceeds also directly assist young magicians who need funds to pursue their passion. The assembly is also sharing proceeds with SPED*NET, Special Education Network of New Canaan. SPED*NET has donated tickets to the residents of the South Avenue Cottage and Schoolhouse Apartments.

Information on the Society of Young Magicians is available from Bill Andrews at 357-7862 or weandrews@snet.-net, or from Anne Eason at 966-9709 or MagicMother@gmail.-com.

Tickets can be purchased at sym42.com or at The Outback Teen Center.
