Thomas Anthony Knapp, 44, of Redding, died on Wednesday April 9, 2008.
He was born in Danbury on March 8, 1964, a son of Richard W., Sr. (Bob) and Elizabeth (Betty) Haen Knapp of Redding.
Mr. Knapp was a member of Redding Fire Co. No. 1 and the First Church of Christ, Congregational at Redding Center. For many years, he worked in the family business.
He was well known for his love of Christmas and his knack for decorating Christmas trees, including his 80-foot pine tree on Lonetown Road and the trees at Redding Center and at the firehouse.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Nicole Elizabeth Knapp of Savoy, Mass.; his siblings, Marc and his wife Linda Wright; Linda Conte and her husband Joseph; Edward and his wife Lydia and their children, Nicholas and Gina; Richard and his partner, Michael Jansen; Andrew and his wife Diane and their children, Laura and Andrew; Brenda MacMillan and her husband, Douglas and their children, Claire, Jack and Sam; Elizabeth Knapp-Perry and her husband, Bruce; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in the First Church of Christ, Congregational, Redding Center. The Rev. Dean C. Ahlberg, pastor, will officiate. The interment will follow in Umpawaug Cemetery, Redding.
Friends may call at the Bouton Funeral Home, 31 West Church Street, Georgetown, on Monday, April 14, from 4 to 8 p.m.
