Hospice care is topic at program

Cynthia Roy Squitieri, MS, LCSW, executive director, Regional Hospice of Western CT, will present “Hospice: Enrichment at End of Life” on Wednesday, Feb. 27, in the Redding Community Center from 7 to 8 p.m.
This 45-minute presentation will offer a historical perspective of the hospice philosophy, specifics about the care those receive while on hospice, as well as the opportunities and barriers to hospice and palliative care. Other areas covered will include the Medicare hospice benefit, how to determine when someone is appropriate for hospice care, and how to make a referral.
The presentation will be followed by a 15-minute question and answer session. This is a free presentation. Call the Park and Recreation office at 938-2551 to have your name put on the guest list.
