Redding:
Sandella’s is planning
a franchise expansion
Jun 24, 2007
Sandella’s Flatbread has plans to expand via franchising nationally, with a regional push in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Jersey this year. The company, which has more than 125 open restaurants and another 70-plus in development across the country, is looking for multi-unit investors to expand the chain in these three states.
Having already signed master franchising agreements in Nevada and Los Angeles, Calif., Sandella’s is looking to bring more stores to the East Coast and particularly near its headquarters, it said in a press release.
“Sandella’s has stores open across the United States, but one of our prime target areas right now is surrounding our home-base core in Connecticut,” said Mike Stimola, Sandella’s president. “We have strong branding in this region, great food and our restaurants are extremely simply to operate.”
Named the seventh fastest growing concept, according to Restaurant Business Magazine, Sandella’s “is a branded fast casual restaurant concept with high quality, great tasting products that are easy to execute — everything on the menu is made in four steps or less.
“Sandella’s incorporates the hottest trends in the fast casual segment, offering consumers fresh, hot and healthy menu items such as grilled paninis, sandwiches, grilled flatbreads and quesadillas — all made with their own delicious flatbread, which is kosher and contains one gram of fat. Already ahead of its time, Sandella’s is trans-fat free and listed in the Weight Watchers Points Guide,” the release said.
“Flatbread is very hot right now, not only because it’s healthy but because it tastes good,” said Mr. Stimola. “Since Sandella’s founding 14 years ago, we have worked hard to perfect our very own distinctive, high quality, three-layer brick oven flatbread recipe. Our customers love it and we are looking forward to expanding our reach in these states.”
