Joan F. Baldaserini, a retired bookkeeper and longtime Ridgefielder, died on Sunday, April 27, at Danbury Hospital. She was 87 years old and wife of Gino “Jinx” Baldaserini.
Mrs. Baldaserini was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of Matthew J. and Josephine Bresnahan Fischer. She was raised in Brewster, N.Y., attended local schools and graduated with the Class of 1937 from Brewster High School where she was a member of its girl’s basketball team. She also was an avid swimmer in younger years.
A bookkeeper for 25 years with the Montanari Fuel Company of Ridgefield, she retired in 1982.
A resident of Ridgefield for the past 66 years, Mrs Baldaserini enjoyed bowling, golf, bridge, cooking, baking and entertaining. She was a member of the W.W.W. Bridge Club, and of St. Mary’s Church.
“Mrs. Baldaserini was a person of quick wit and had a good sense of humor,” her family said.
Besides her husband of 66 years, Mrs. Baldaserini is survived by a daughter, Nancy Baldaserini.
A brother, Matthew J. Fischer, Jr., two sisters, Barbara Davis and Virginia Donohue, and a nephew Timothy Donohue, died before her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:15 in St. Mary’s Church, Ridgefield.
Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ridgefield.
There will be no calling hours.
Contributions to the Ridgefield Fire Dept. Ambulance Fund, 6 Catoonah St. or to the District Nursing Association, 90 East Ridge, both of Ridgefield, CT 06877 would be appreciated.
