KENNETH BERGQUIST: Artist, lawn-care business owner

Kenneth Bergquist, a former longtime Ridgefielder, died peacefully on April 21 at his home in Winter Park, Fla.

He built a house in Ridgefield in 1959 and lived on Farmingville Road for 30 years with his wife, Gisele, and their five children.

Mr. Bergquist owned and operated a Lawn-a-Mat franchise and later Lawnscape America in Fairfield and Westchester counties. Later in life he became a proficient stained glass artist.

He is survived by his children Cherie Raub of Emmaus, Pa., Arthur Bergquist of San Marcos, Calif., Paul Bergquist of Jacksonville, Fla. and Ariane Ladd of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands as well as 10 grandchildren and his wife of one year, Patti D’Amours Bergquist.
