| "Celebration of Peace" by Suzan Waldinger, who will be exhibiting her work at The Art of Peaceful Politices Thursday evening at the Community Center. |
The works of artist Suzan Waldinger will be featured at an exhibit at the Ridgefield Community Center Thursday, March 27, from 8 to 10 p.m. at “The Art of Peaceful Politics.”
“The Democratic Town Committee is inviting the general public to view the exhibit while at the same time engaging in friendly, informal discussion of local, state and national political issues with politicians from both major political parties,” said town Chair Susan Cocco.
“First Selectman Rudy Marconi and other local officeholders will be there for those who wish to talk about issues such as the proposed town budget.
“Voters will be able to speak with Republican State Senator Judith Freedman about state issues such as transportation or the state’s role in education. Also, Democrat Jim Himes, who is challenging Congressman Chris Shays in November, will be on hand for anyone wishing to exchange views on national affairs."
Ms. Waldinger has donated one of her “peace” canvases for a raffle. Raffle tickets may be purchased in advance for $5 at Deborah Ann’s Sweet Shoppe, The Ironwood Gallery and Ridgefield Organics & Specialty Market.
Admission to the event, including champagne and hors d’oeuvres, is $15/person or $25/couple.
