Weston fashion show features kids
|
WestonBoutique.com will host a fashion show for boys and girls on Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Norfield Congregational Church parish hall to support two charitable organizations: Making Headway; and Higher Education and Responsibility Through Over Seas Exchange (HEROS).
Westonite Toyin Okoro, a British-born international fashion designer, is the event’s organizer and founder of WestonBoutique.com, an online clothing store featuring a variety of quality women’s and children’s fashions.
Ms. Okoro moved to Weston three years ago from Texas. Her career in fashion design spans some 20 years working in New York and Texas.
“I want people, especially young people, to have a reason to look fabulous,” Ms. Okoro said. “Why shouldn’t kids look just as fabulous and fashionable as their parents? And why not wear fashionable clothing and support a good cause at the same time?”
The show will run from 1 to 3.
Parents will have the opportunity to order any of the clothes featured at the event, which will also showcase exotic handmade necklaces from rare African beads and stones, jewelry creations, silk ties, and scarves.
Youngster Aaron Gaberman of Weston will be the opening speaker at the event and will tell about his ordeal as a young man who two years ago was diagnosed with two rare non-germinoma brain tumors.
Admission is free but tickets are required — visit www.westonboutique.com and click the link “Special Projects.”
