Berkowitz receives ADAP award

Last week the Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program (ADAP) of Weston presented its ADAP Community Service Award as part of its Red Ribbon Week activities.
In a presentation at Weston Town Center, the award was given to Mark Berkowitz, athletic director at Weston High School.
Celeste McGeehan, president of ADAP, said, “Mark, when your name was nominated to the board, it was unanimous. We congratulate you for your continued support of ADAP, both in health classes and in the athletic programs. You have been an inspiration to students as a mentor, coach and now as athletic director.”
First Selectman Woody Bliss joined Ms. McGeehan at the ceremony and added, “I am thrilled that Mark Berkowitz was selected to receive the 2007 ADAP Community Service Award. His leadership has played a very important role in helping the development of young men and women in Weston. He teaches important lessons that will enable them to lead fuller lives.”
