John Morin, 72, Servco employee for more than 30 years
John C. Morin, of Georgetown, died Wednesday, April 23. He was 72.

Mr. Morin was raised in northern Vermont and relocated to Georgetown where he lived for 50 years, working for Servco Oil in Wilton from 1974 until his death.

He served in the U.S. Army from September 1954 until August 1956 with B Battery 99th Field Artillery Battalion. He spent many hours reading about history and was a member of The Knights of Columbus, The Loyal Order of Moose, The American Legion, and The National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Leni, and their five children; John Rene and his wife, Sharon, and their two children, Heather and John Tyler; daughter Diane and her two sons, Kyle and Carey; daughter Melanie and her husband, Greg, and their children Laura and Curtis; daughter Susan and her husband, Art, and their two children, Corey and Alyssa and her daughter Brenna; and son Andre and his wife, Brandy. He is also survived by siblings Blanche Sullivan, Gerry Morin and his wife, Lucy; Roger Morin and his wife Lois; Leo Morin and his wife Kathe; Pat Valley; Carmen Scofield; and Bert Morin and his wife Kathy, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Melanie and Philibert Morin, and siblings Lucille, Rene, Armand, Eddie, and Bob.

Mr. Morin’s family thanked the Whittingham Cancer Center at Norwalk Hospital and Connecticut Hospice for their care during a difficult time.

A memorial service was held at Sacred Heart Church in Georgetown on Saturday, April 26. Burial was private.
