Route 7 water main work continues

The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced that Aquarion Water Company will be shutting off the water supply to area businesses and residents on Route 7 in Wilton to allow work on the water main.

In addition, the shutoff may also impact residents and businesses in neighboring areas. The shut offs will take place at night, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., as follows:

• Thursday, May 15 – Ridgefield Road area

Residents and businesses in these areas will be notified by Aquarion prior to the water service being shut off. The work is weather sensitive and may be rescheduled if weather conditions are not favorable.

The water shutoffs are in association with the reconstruction project on Route 7 in Wilton that will accommodate two travel lanes, both northbound and southbound, for a length of approximately three miles from Wolfpit Road to Olmstead Hill Road. The project is scheduled for completion in April 2010.

Information: Aquarion Water Company at 445-7310.
