This spring, the Wolf Conservation Center will be attempting to breed three pairs of endangered wolves: two Mexican gray wolves, a critically endangered subspecies of the gray wolf, and four red wolves. Waccabuc resident and MIT student Tish Scolinik recently traveled to Tanzania to build and distribute customized wheelchairs for that country's disabled population. Working with two groups in Tanzania, Ms. Scolnik helped to create a folding three-wheeled wheelchair, more stable in the rough terrain of Africa, and a "small business" wheelchair, customized to allow users to run a small retail business out of it.
